Allyson Scrutchens knows what it means to beat the odds. The Southside of Chicago native was born to a mother who was, at the time, addicted to crack cocaine, yet Allyson didn’t have any symptoms or medical issues at birth. She and her mother, who is now 25 years sober and a social worker helping others beat addiction, believe Allyson is a miracle. Since then, the 28-year-old has always dreamt big and believed in the possibilities for herself, and very shortly after college she set up several businesses over the years despite people who may have doubted her because of her age.

As a serial entrepreneur today, Allyson, CEO of Forward Planning, LLC — a full service consulting company, that hosted events for as many as 23,000 people — is focused on growing her business and creating multiple streams of income that will build generational wealth for her family.
