‘To Rome for Love’ Star Diann Valentine on Finding Love, Having Vision and Going the Distance

Even as a young girl growing up in Oakland, California, celebrity weddings and events designer Diann Valentine has always had vision — one that allowed her to look at a space or opportunity and not just see what is there, but to see the possibilities of what it could be. That belief in the possibilities — even when she wasn’t sure of “the how” — continued to fuel Diann as she launched her own wedding planning business while in high school, continued it through college and then decided to go into her own events design business as an adult. Today, nearly 30 years later, she is celebrated for creating exquisite weddings, events and experiences for a range of high-level clients.

The secret to Diann’s continuing success in business? Love. She has always been “in love with love,” and today, her business has evolved to include other ways of bringing love into the picture for her clients. She is star of the new Bravo TV show, To Rome for Love (airing Sundays at 9pm EST), which is based on her experiences as founder of her company, Venus Affect — which creates excursions for high net worth, successful, women who want to travel to Europe to find love. She is also author of the new book, Going the Distance for Love: 22 Tips on Handling Your Issues and Finding Love Wherever It May Be.
