We often hear the best way to think about starting a business is to consider your potential customer’s pain point and solve that problem. Milana Lechinsky started her business purely out of her own desire to stay at home with her young children — this was her pain point, one she couldn’t ignore. As a web designer for a newspaper at the time, Milana’s way forward was experimenting with creating online products, software and services (and eventually inventing the tele-summit in 2004!).
To even consider becoming an entrepreneur, Milana has to adjust her mindset. Growing up in the Soviet Union, entrepreneurship was not encouraged. It was all about the 9-to-5. But in the U.S., Milana was not only an entrepreneur, she was extremely successful, and she grew her business to $1.5 million in revenue. At that point, she realized something: She wasn’t happy or fulfilled. What she really craved was simplicity.
On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, Milana talks about hitting a million dollars in her business and having panic attacks, having the courage to walk away from what everyone else says is “successful,” learning to keep it simple rather than complicated, and deciding that she’d rather be fulfilled, not just busy.
On this episode, you’ll learn:
- Why the power of being able to create something sell it is greater than the amount of money you make!
