Marketing Maven Teju Owoye on Tinkering with Your Business Until You Get It Right

Have you ever started a business — one that you absolutely love, but that has yet to make any money and that you can’t quite figure out? Have you ever thought, maybe I’m not on the right track, or maybe I am, who’s to say?!

In this conversation with Teju Owoye, CEO of Sulte Group and host of Teju.TV, she tells about the importance of continuing to experiment until you get it right, whether that’s with your current business or some other iteration of it. You want to have a plan, but you never know exactly how it’s going to work out, because going from point A to point B rarely happens in the real world of entrepreneurship. Instead it’s more like A, Z, X, K…and then who knows?

Before figuring out what worked for her, Teju ended up going broke and moving back in with her parents. Her zig-zagged journey to discovering her own zone of genius included considering grad school, reading a ton of books, modeling the behavior of those who were doing what she wanted to to, and tinkering along the way. Another thing Teju did? Leapt! And on this episode she goes into the lessons she learned on the way down (and how she tried to make a parachute out of a straw and a watermelon).
