Nedgine Paul has always been passionate about education, but she fell in love with entrepreneurship, when she realized her business could have a social justice component. Today, as a social entrepreneur, Nedgine’s organization — Anseye Pou Ayiti (Teach for Haiti in Haitian Creole) — works to establish equity in education in Haiti by recruiting and training local talent in the country to teach children, who may otherwise only receive schooling through the sixth grade.

Nedgine is very passionate about finding local solutions to these challenges, and after graduating with an undergraduate degree in History from Yale College and an Ed.M. in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, she returned to her “mighty Haiti” — where she was born — to live, work and continue to build Anseye Pou Ayiti. On this episode, she shares the power of social entrepreneurship, the importance of giving your business (and yourself) time to evolve, and why it’s imperative to be guided by your “why.”
